Internal audit jobs
As defined by the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA), internal auditing is an independent, objective assurance and consulting activity designed to add value and improve an organization’s operations. It helps an organization accomplish its objectives by bringing a systematic and disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management, control, and governance processes. The role of an internal auditor is to provide independent assurance that an organization’s risk management, governance, and internal control processes are operating effectively.
External audit jobs
An external audit job is related to an independent examination of the financial statements prepared by the organization. It is usually conducted for statutory purposes.

Basically, the responsibility of an external auditor is to make sure that there is nothing bad or wrong going on with the financial situation within a company. They are able to make sure that everything is accounted for correctly. External Auditors inspect clients’ accounting records and express an opinion as to whether financial statements are presented fairly in accordance with the applicable accounting standards of the entity, such as Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). They must assert whether financial statements are free of material misstatements due to errors or fraud. The resulting audited financial statements are then examined by a variety of external users including investors, creditors, and government bodies.

Corporate audit jobs
A corporate audit job is based on the examination of financial or operational procedures within a corporation. Audit procedures may be conducted by an internal or external corporate auditing team, and they can serve a variety of functions. Auditing is designed to confirm that all companies are operating within the frames of the law and that their stated ethical standards are upheld by their practices.

A corporate audit job involves detailed inspection of financial accounts and practices. Auditors look for financial irregularities which might be signs of tax evasion, embezzling, or other illegal activities. The auditors may also be required to consult the company on how to operate more efficiently and effectively.
